Morning Sally and all who follow.

How's DH's job hunting going Sally?

I must have slept funny, I've got a cricked neck and a headache.....DD2 is pleased to be home, she's spread out on the sofa, watching the disney channel whilst wearing a fluffy raspberry coloured scarf that Luc sent her, with her pjs....I don't think she'll move for the majority of the day

Morning, feeling slightly better this morning but a bit achey and my lungs feel gunky :o. Think I might try to get the house looking presentable then have a bath and go for a little walk.

Had a lovely looooooooong chat with Mr Sunday last night, nothing heavy but we got on really well, and he wasn't the prickly character he has been of late. He was in quite an introspective mood and asked if I found him difficult - I said no  but that he was rather guarded. He seemed to be trying to open up a little, not sure what prompted that. Giving him the benefit of the doubt for now...

    Enjoy the peace Sal!

Pooky, hope your neck recovers quickly, you need a sexy man to massage it for you! :D

Thats great Snags...at least he realises what he's like which is half the battle. It also gives you the confidence to know its not him not liking you its just his way and him dealing with things IYSWIM. Bet you're glad you didn't right him off earlier in the week now!

Um...pants TBH. He has applied for a fair few but his idea of job hunting and my idea are worlds apart. His involves looking on the net, applying for a couple and spending the rest of the day while I am at work watching films and playing games on the computer .

Thanks - something is telling me to persevere with him. I don't entirely trust my own instincts mind you because I've been known to be slightly deluded about relationships... but I think it would be short sighted not to at least see if he is genuine about wanting to get to know me properly as a friend before the relationship moves on.

I felt hurt and more than a little confused earlier in the week, but that's mainly because I thought it was an elaborate way of letting me down gently.

It must be really frustrating for you, waiting for your OH to get off his backside and apply for things. Couldn't he take on some other sort of work in the meantime, just to keep busy and keep some money coming in?

 Sally at your OH ....maybe he could take half my OH's workload (working himself into an early grave).

His heart problems have eased up this week and he has admitted he is exhausted and has overdone it in the last six months. His contract runs out middle august so says he wants a week away somewhere on a beach. I also mentioned that he needed to sort his 'mental' issues out and he didn't flinch....he agreed!

We had a lovely night last night. Chloe stayed at DD1's for the night and we went for food (TGI Fridays - very very noisy and not a totally pleasant experience) and then went to see Harry Potter...as usual I slept through the second half...too long these films....but I thought the first half amusing!

Will be painting much of today along with a visit to Ikea and trying to help DS fit a new bathroom floor and put in some new skirting boards....:rotfl:thanks for the tips Snags......DD2 going to her nans for a week later today so it should be sooo peaceful next week.

AND BUNNY IS POPPING IN LATER ON HER WAY HOME FROM CAMPING:j

He probably could snags but TBH he's in the mindset to only look for jobs that he wants. The other downside is that its very easy to get caught in the benefits trap. Currently he needs to find a job that pays over 18k without costing anything to get too to make it beneficial. Whilst he was earning a lot more than that before there aren't any jobs locally paying that now and herein lies the problem!

Sammy yes grrr to OH, can you tell me does he get his contract work through a specific company or off his own back?

Hope the trip to Ikea is not too expensive  and that the tiling goes ok!

I really feel for you, coping with your OH's various 'life threatening illnesses' Sammy. I've been on the other side of it, in my teens and 20's, I really suffered from hypochondria, and thought every ache and pain was the start of cancer, heart disease, kidney failure, a brain tumour... it's exhausting, terrifying and impacts so much on the rest of your life, because you want to make plans but keep thinking 'what's the point, I'll be dead by then'. I would put off going to the doctors for weeks, or even months, because I was scared of what they would tell me.

I really can't imagine what it's like to be on the other side, and have to cope with someone who is like that, but I imagine it's incredibly frustrating, stressful and upsetting.

Good luck with the flooring and give Bunny a big snnnooooggggg for me! :)

A bit of both....he is currently working through an agency...once you get in with an agency the work up until now pretty much follows, however it is safe to say to get the money you need to be prepared to go where the work is....and there is none round us...he has to work away. Thankfully we are both used to it and can deal with it. I will see if I can get the details of OH of the agency - but I know totaljobs were an excellent site for ITjobs. I think you will also find that people are more keen on contractors at the minute due to economic climate.

What and give my OH a real heart attack! He would die of pleasure! :rotfl:

Its good to hear what its like from 'the other side' IYSWIM......although its hard to deal with he has a genuine problem, albeit psychological instead of physical. I laughed to myself last night...when he get stressed his twitching and little ticks get worse.....he had them when I met him and thought it was a little odd:rotfl:but he was so nice i just kind of ignored them....:rotfl:if only I had thought about it a little harder at the time...:D
