    Decide if you are happy to take all the risk should your car be damaged/written off.

    Then compare the costs TP v FC (with a massive excess eg swiftcover allow you to have £1000 excess even if your car is worth less). (If you are doing this option, go with the cheapest, as their quality of service is going to matter little). Or justcompare FC prices (with a normal excess) if you don't want to take the risk yourself.
