Replacement handset for Tesco PAYG....O2?

I think Tesco use O2 as a carrier....does that mean I can use a locked O2 PAYG handset with a Tesco SIM?

But I can tell you that Asda use Vodaphone as a carrier and an Asda payg sim works in a locked Vodaphone phone.0 -
Yes you can, I used my locked O2 Sony Ericsson C902 with a Tesco Sim.0
