I ve had a mesh pc for 4 years (Athlon 1000mhz)
Very good build quality using branded parts. Whether They are good now I really dont Know. They still seem to get a lot of awards from PC mags (but then again they spend £££s on advertising with them, you Know what I Mean)
Had major headache when they delivered a 17" Phillips crt instead of a 19" Sony
Customer Service was really appalling hanging on the phone for hours on end and no return calls.
Had to threaten them with legal action in the end .
    PC 10 /10
    Service -100/10

  • Just like to point out that the PC comes with a 17" Sony TFT as standard - so it is not "unbranded" but Iilyama are worth the extra money as the Sony does not have a very good response time usually.

where did it mention Sony? I'm sure it didnt say anything, which is why i assumed it was unbranded. I use a Sony at work and it is utter garbage...best thing for it is to throw it out of the window!

If your not going to trust Mesh then I dont think u will like pcworld. Their even worse. PC never lasted a year nor did the monitor, I had broken the pc warrenty but the monitor was still in tack. Never the less it took them 4 months to replace the monitor. I would not advise! Infact AVOID at all costs.

Stay away from PC World! Never Again.

They ruined my old PC installing a CD-RW upgrade. Put the Sony In - broke after 2 weeks (lens or something), took it back they put an LG in instead - tried it instore, took it home hooked it up and started the machine - never worked properly since. >:(

  • I looked into getting a laptop from Mesh.

A friend recommended them as they had inclusive extended warranties. However, he had had problems with delivery though.

I found that they won't deliver to an address other than the cardholders address (no good because I'm out at work all day) They suggested I sent a cheque instead, but delivery times were 2-3 weeks.

In the end I went with Dell because of the name and reputation and the fact they deliver to a non-cardholders address as long as you register this with your bank (only takes five minutes) and the computer is due in 5-7 working days. The specs seemed much the same for the Mesh price even considering Dell charges for extra warranty.

    I've been Money Tipped!
We got a good PC from MESH, no probs at all.

Avoid PC world, they broke our laptop then refused to fix it...they also left it at the end of a checkout for a good few hours where anyone could have picked it up and walked off with it.

A friend has found DELL to be pretty top notch...so they're all a much of a muchness.

  • My son has purchased a new mesh in the past 12 weeks, after 8 weeks the psu went on it.

We have a 3 year back to base warranty so the pc went back to them at at cost of £50 to us ! we had to pay for the insured collection and the delivery back to us.

I appreciate that when we purchased this we knew the t & C s, but i think to have an engineer call at home would have been an extra £200 at the time pf purchase, and you really do hope that everything will be ok when you purchase a computer which cost £1,000, silly me!!

The computer was returned to us within a week with the front panel scratched, so I phoned them and they did send a panel straight away, and it is working well at the moment.

So please just bare in mind that when you are thinking about purchasing a mesh.

My son is very happy with his mesh now, but I am just a bit miffed at him having to pay £50.

I bought a Mesh 2 1/2 years ago and another a few months ago and have had no problems with either. Same goes for my uncles which is also 2 1/2 years old.

The 17" monitor I got and the one still pictured on their site is actually a Sharp. It really does look the part from the front and back and I'm very pleased with it.

People who have had problems with deliveries should maybe blame the delivery company and not Mesh unless of course it was actually Mesh's fault. Both times I was given an expected delivery date (and this was to Northern Ireland) and both times it arrived on time.
