Have ordered a free energy monitor from Southern Electric today. :j

Obviously you need to have an account with them (I assume so, anyway!)
One of those gadgets that tells you how much energy you are using! Am hoping it will encourage the family to TURN OFF THE LIGHTS!!!
Apparently it will take up to two weeks to arrive.
I did do a forum search to see if this had been posted before, but nothing came up. However Im sure it must be somewhere, so if someone clever wants to merge this thread, I won't be offended!:rotfl:

Unfornately only for people who recieve benefits but thought i'd post it for those that do as it's £54.98 worth of energy saving products.
Basically if you recieve benifits you can get a free standby saver(£19.99) and electricity monitor(£34.99) from british gas.(and you dont have to be a customer)
britishgas .co.uk/productsoffers
Enter promo code EF3 (case sensative)
You will need your benifit reference number at hand as proof.

They wont give me one unless I change my account to Southern Elect. Even thougt my quarterlly account come from Southern elect.
I am with Ebico (Equipgas & Equipelect) a non profit energy supplier all their Elect & gas came from Southern Elect!

My friends in that area got theirs yesterday - it came in a huge box & now they are busy switching off non-essentials as it shows you how much electricity you'd spend in a quarter if you keep using that amount. Great idea & simple to use :T0

They asked me for my meter reading whilst I was on the phone.0 -
I use Southern Electric and just contacted them about this monitor. It's worth £45 but you have to change to their Better Plan tariff. There is various rewards on this scheme (checked out their website). It says that if the energy reduction is reduced by 10% or more a £15 cash cerdit will be awarded. This is over a 12 month period, starting and ending with a meter reading. There is a lot of small print about the awards at the bottom of the Better Plan page.
Hope this helps.Cornish men do it drekkly.. Cornish women want it done now
