Any Wireless Router With Talk Talk Broadband?

Hi there, I've just bought a wireless enabled laptop and am on Talk Talk BB but don't have a router yet. I've been offered a Sky one on Freecycle, but my boyfriend seems to think it won't work because it's not a TT one.
I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter what type of router you use as you're still plugging it in to your phone line but can someone confirm it so I can put my dear OH's mind at rest??

Your OH is right, not because it's not a TalkTalk router but because Sky routers are locked to Sky. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
What a pain! Thanks for that - saves me a journey to go and collect.0

You are right in thinking that most ADSL routers will work with any ISP-but not if they are locked.
So for example you could buy a cheap router on eBay (Netgear Dg834G for example) and that will work with any ISP including TalkTalk or Sky.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
