o2 raised monthly charge w/o notice - help!

@ the OP - given that the 20% has been accepted it may now be too late, however:
i had a similar issue with o2 last year - very long story short - i got moved onto a different tariff so they could give me a 'discount' after i phoned up to cancel having suffered some poor service. they didn't mention that the new tariff didn't include any WAP minutes which I used a lot (and got free originally). much complaining and back and forth later I ended up writing to peter.erskine@O2.com - I sent a letter stating the problems I had experienced and that I fully intended to leave O2 asap as a result having been with them for several years.
i got contacted by someone in his office who sorted the whole thing out, new phone for free (should have been £50), increased monthly discount and a £50 cheque for the trouble. (I'm waiting of course for the fun and games when the discount runs out after 12 months
)
to sum up - get it all down in a letter, explain the issues (bullet points if possible), mention the length of time with o2, explain the studying etc and that the whole experience has left you disappointed with o2 and that she'll be leaving etc. just be polite and to the point. can't hurt.
someone wrote a piece on complaining that i read ages ago and it basically worked on the principle that you go to the top of the organisation as soon as you can if you aren't getting any joy from the first people you speak to. might take a bit longer but if you have a genuine grievance then it should get sorted that way and you should get more as a result.
good luck."Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." (Mark Twain)0
