Stick to your guns but also think about reporting Ebay to the data protection registrar (if you are convinced that you are in the right) as they shouldn't have done that

keep account of all contact and if he keeps trying to contact report to the police. he doesnt have to break the law to get the police to have a word. We had a problem like this acouple of years back. We contacted the police and they contacted the person. After that it all stopped

This is perfectly normal. You can request a user's details IF you have both been involved in a transaction together within the last x days. Which is nothing to worry about, really, because if you're buying/selling from each other than you have the other person's name and address details anyway. So eBay aren't exactly divulging sensitive data to anyone who asks. It's really there so that if you lose the emails or don't get them, you still have the details you need to post payment or post the item.

If BT supply your phone account opt in to their CHOOSE TO REFUSE. This means that any number your nuisance caller uses to call from is blocked from calling you even if they withold there number. I had problems myself a while back. You can also use it for those annoying cold calls and computer generated calls. I only used it for 1 month which at the time was free. Hope you find a solution but DON'T GIVE IN AND REPORT HIM/HER TO E BAY. They have NO RIGHT to pass on personal details and if I'm not mistaken actualy state somewhere that they will not do so. Best of luck:think:

I posted earlier about an item which I had brought. Never turned up. Seller ignored my e-mails. Got a refund through Paypal then left negative feedback. Seller then demanded I cancel the transaction. Refused. Then the seller brought an item off me (Rather stupidly I forgot to block them before leaving feedback). So I cancelled that transaction rather than going through them saying it didn't turn up or saying it was as described. So the seller sent me a message saying they still wanting the item and would re-pay (I refunded the money) and was looking forward to getting the item. Anyway I ignored their messages.
Now I got a message from Ebay saying they had requested my detials and they had provided them. They already had my address as I brought an item from them. Anyway depsite changing my number on file months ago to my mobile they have given this person my home phone number. I am tempted just to give in to his bullying and cancel the negative.
The thing is I can't report it as he hasn't done anything and I have his telephone number but the messages this guy sends are sinster without being enough to report.
So would you cancel the negative and unpaid strike? Just to get him to leave us alone?

I still think some people are forgetting that when we use ebay we supply our phone number and address and agree that this can be shared with our trading partners, so ebay have no breach here of anything

Business users even have to have their contact address displayed to all users.

i think going by what the OP stated, its more a case of ebay giving out a number that the OP had taken off their account, not the fact they gave out their number

I had all this from an eBay beauty seller called beautybloom, and I'm ashamed to say that I gave in and did what she wanted to stop the harassment.
I was so stressed out by it all that I haven't bought from eBay since.
Really wish I'd done something about it.
