Pyscho on Ebay

I posted earlier about an item which I had brought. Never turned up. Seller ignored my e-mails. Got a refund through Paypal then left negative feedback. Seller then demanded I cancel the transaction. Refused. Then the seller brought an item off me (Rather stupidly I forgot to block them before leaving feedback). So I cancelled that transaction rather than going through them saying it didn't turn up or saying it was as described. So the seller sent me a message saying they still wanting the item and would re-pay (I refunded the money) and was looking forward to getting the item. Anyway I ignored their messages.
Now I got a message from Ebay saying they had requested my detials and they had provided them. They already had my address as I brought an item from them. Anyway depsite changing my number on file months ago to my mobile they have given this person my home phone number. I am tempted just to give in to his bullying and cancel the negative.
The thing is I can't report it as he hasn't done anything and I have his telephone number but the messages this guy sends are sinster without being enough to report.
So would you cancel the negative and unpaid strike? Just to get him to leave us alone?

Forward any 'sinister' messages to ebay, dont cancel the Neg... sounds like he deserves it!
I don't think you should have 'cancelled' the transaction he bought though.. he's now got something else to winge about.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -

If you are feeling threatened, then this coupled with his persistant unwanted communications may well be enough to report him to the police. See here: http://www.harassment-law.co.uk/ under 'malicious communications'.
Giving in to the bullying only justifies to himself his behaviour and means he'll do it again to someone else. The police may well be aware of his erratic behaviour and could get him the 'help' that he needs.0 -

Definitely stick to your guns here, was it a high value item? If so then you wouldn't get FVF back if he doesn't agree to cancel the transaction, but it may be worth not worrying about if it's just a few pence.
Call the ebay helpline and explain the situation to them, and he cannot make you send the item - you've refunded his money and made it clear you don't want to deal with his behaviour, I think the worst that can happen is you may get a neg from him, but if you do just respond to it with an explanation to say he bought just so that he could leave retaliatory feedback following a problem with his item.0 -

No that's entirely the right thing to do. The guy clearly didn't buy the item because he wanted it, he did it to cause more trouble by trying to enact some kind of revenge.0 -
Well he hasn't called yet and I have his number and his address so to be honest if did harrass me he would be pretty stupid. The item he brought was a fiver and there was a number of them for sale so its only really the final value fee that I will lose and its not all that much. He hasn't left negative feedback yet but I am sure he will.
I cancelled the transaction otherwise it would have dragged on for ages.... at least now its dealt with even if I do give him something to complain about.
I am just going to wait and see if he calls. Thanks for everyone help. This person does seem to have a couple of negative and netural feedbacks about not sending stuff (all the items seem to be items that are worth more than sold for). Do you think its wrong and agasint Ebay rules to contact these people to see if they had any problems and what they did?0 -
Harrasment laws cover electronic communication as well. Easier for you as you can print out the messages as proof.
I'd do as piratefairy said, other buyer's views aren't as important as ebay's who may actually do something about him.0 -
I think something similar is happening to me at the moment, an ebayer has bought 15 or so items of me in the same day, hasnt paid yet (only was yesterday) but has only been an ebay member for 2 days, I tghink it is someone just doing this to cause me higher fees (which I will get back if he doesnt pay) so either a disgruntled customer or someone I left a negative for.mortui non mordent0
