Morning
DS2 and I went down with the nasty cough/cold that'd been doing the the rounds, fought it until Wednesday evening when we just dissolved under duvets coughing, spluttering, shivery and dizzy. We spent yesterday in the same location watching trash movies, eating satsumas ! I feel loads better today, hoping he will awake feeling more like himself.
Plumbers have finished, but there are still some minor jobs to be done, ie the floor, and bath panel after the floor, some minor paintwork. But it looks 1000 times better than it it did. Just don't want it to be one of those little jobs that drags on. House is still a mess but it can wait, not quite up to domestic goddess duties.
I have good news utility bills were even cheaper than I'd worked out due to a £15 discount from Southern Electric because I'd reduced my leccy usage. So will continue with my monitoring.
Did a full freezer inventory on Sunday. Cancelled my Tesco order and we have eaten well out of frozen left overs all week. Am pleased with my efforts in that department.
4 days to payday :jDC.

Morning DC,
Sorry you've not been well. The only good thing about those fluey bugs, is license to have some duvet days as mentioned, completely guilt free. Trashy movies and satsumas are definitely a recipe for good health, with some chocolate thrown in, of course.
Well done on your utility bills, my DD for gas and electricity has just gone up 300% with £437.00 of arrears, took me completely by surprise, too many estimated bills and extravagance (tumble dried all summer  , it was a very wet summer). Not any more though....
P.S What monitoring method do you use?I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Morning Scrooge !
Not caught up with your daily challenge for a while and you always have something on there that flicks the motivational button
300% ! Does that put the cat amongst the proverbial ? Can you change it ? I too am guilty of tumble dryer extravagance (sp?) this summer, but it seems it didn't do too much damage.
Monitoring method is nothing more than having learnt from the energy monitor Southern Electric sent. ie fan oven is very heavy on usage, I knew that but didn't realise how heavy. So I bought a remoska. And seriously turned everything off everywhere each day before leaving for work. Then just recorded weekly meter readings. I don't do DD for these bills, the idea was to put calculated amount in a savings account, but now I'm just putting the cash in a piggie.
Am very pleased it's Friday.DC.

hi dc, glad the bathroom is coming along!
I have just switched companies, and am now monitoring my usage on a weekly basis, just taking my meter readings and making sure i dont do anything silly!! its working in the way that i am not using any more than im paying for but that not too bad!!Pay £15k by Xmas10 £1478.19/£15000[STRIKE]24/07/09[/STRIKE] present - loan - £8550 overdraft#1 - [STRIKE]£2516.87[/STRIKE] £0 credit card - [STRIKE]£1210 [/STRIKE] £0TOTAL - [STRIKE]£12276.87[/STRIKE] £9133.63:T0
