I can't tell you about the sony ericsson but I have the nokia 5800 and have had no problems with it at all. Easy to navigate, pictures are usually very good quality (in normal light), music sounds good from it, internet good to use, and touch screen is very responsive. I'd definately recommend it.0

i have the nokia and i love it except for the fact it crashes very easily, if i drop it on my bed, it crashes, if i put it is a loose pocket it crashes. if i sput the stylus in the phone and hit the battery it crashes. it is a great phone but i think it is very unreliable.personally if i had the choice i'd go with the SE W995, but that is just me. though i am waiting for the new SE Satio.Hello Floor Make Me A Sandwich!0

Depends, if you want a touch screen then 5800. Out of those though, I would chose the W995. Never really got on with the 5800! Although later in the year theres an updated version coming out.0

Hello mate
I've just written reviews for both phones. My personal favourite is the Nokia 5800.
I'm not allowed to post links yet but if you want to view the reviews then PM and I'll pass on the link!

5800 any day of the week. Very cheap around £120-£150 on ebay.0

Thanks guys....i think its equally balanced but a lidl bit tilted towards the w995. I am sorta looking for a reliable phone though.0

I think its all chance on whether you get a reliable one of either type. You hear complains about every mobile, things going wrong, but its all chance, annoyingly. Glad none of mine have ever played up *touch wood*0

just to revive this - I'm having the same quandary
But I've just had a Sony Ericsson conk out on me after 8 months (conveniently outside the 6-month warranty)
And I've always had an aversion to touchscreen phones like Nokia's and am suspicious of fancy (i.e., crash-prone) operating systems.
Sony's got a much better camera but then how much do I really use a phone camera anyway.
Just want something robust that isn't going crash every few hours or die after eight months ... grrr
is there anyway one can get longevity or reliability stats on different phone models?0
