Options
Hi there,
for some reason my old account has been lost on here ( its been a while) Is yogi still on here?
anyway I am after some desperate advice1!!

Over a month ago a customer of mine ( self employed) was robbed.
We replaced their PC's and server, comes to approx 10k
They are a solicitors firm.
The Solicitors firm is now SHUT ( with my equipment inside) and on the news it said the solicitor is on remand for MURDER ( and charged with)

Wot can i do now to get the money?
Shall i goto moneyclaim.gov.uk ?
sell on the debt?

I have rang / wrote to the "law society" who are supposedly "winding down" the company says an ex employee i tracked down on facebook, Seriously what can i do?
Please some advise.

Contact the citizens advice bureau at the earliest opportunity possible or if you can, a lawyer. Dig out any documentation relevant. I would say contact any debt collectors/bailiffs, but I don't trust not to them dispose of the items deliberately to avoid losing money. A lot of bailiffs and debt collectors are bloody unscruptulous given half a chance, and some will even patently break the law if they can get away with it.

Also generally search Google with terms such as "Unpaid items" and see what you get.

You haven't said what response you got from the Law Society

There is no point in going to CAB as they only deal with individuals not businesses.

I would have expected there to be some sort of notice on the windows with contact numbers for who ever is administrating the winding down process after all the Soliciter will still have clients in stuck in limbo

Right first things first, you need to know who you supplied the goods to.

Was it a Ltd company, partnership or sole trader? What info have you got on the solicitors? Reg number etc, did they make any payment prior to installation of the kit, if so who's name is on the chq BACS etc?

Once you've established who you dealt with it becomes easier to suggest a course of action :)

    ok here goes:-

I have supplied good / services to this business for over 2 years , so didnt take any pre-payment ( my mistake now i know).

They have always paid before Via company cheque.

IT isnt a LTD company, ive checked companies house.
It looks more like a partnership / sole trader.

all it says on their website is This firm is regulated by the Law Society.

The law society on the phone said a soliciotor in mansfield is dealing with the "winding down" of the company, I have sent that solcitor 2 letter and 2 emails ( no reply) , upon phoning them many timess, the person i need is always in a meeting.

    any further help much appreciated!
