ATOS medical cancelled

Hi
My DH should have gone for his ATOS medical today, but just as we were leaving the house, the telephone rang and he was informed that the computers had gone down and not to turn up.
In fact the man at the other end said that he was surprised, he had to have the interview at all considering his health issues, but rules are rules.
Anyway my question is, will he still receive the £64.30 until he has another appointment
Thank you for any advice

Thank you for your reply NASA
He knew that we are going away on Saturday for a week, but said that a new appointment would be here for when we arrived home, we will just have to wait and see, he just wants to get it over and done with0 -
Watch out.A friend is long term sick and was on incapacity benefit. She was asked to attend a medical which was cancelled on the day by a phone call as doctor off sick. No new appointment was made and benefit was stopped for not attending medical. This apparently means she is well enough to work! Letters exchanged and this is now subject to appeal.

This sounds like a new type of scam to get people off incapacity benefit - it shouldn't have even got to appeal stage - just had a new date for the medical.

Blimey Gary I hope not.
He will be 63 next month and worked all his life until he had a stroke last October,
he now has no use in his left side and also rheumatoid arthritis in both hand and feet:eek:0 -
Dear Mrs A - at 63 - I would think he is quite safe

Hi Gary
He is a 7 1/2 tonne truck driver, but has been told he will not be able to drive a truck again, he would however like to be able to be useful at something at some time, I suppose time will tell0 -
I sincerely hope that he gets his condition and pain under control - so is able to do something he also enjoys doing.
I wish you both well

Dont worry Mrs A, there is no new scam to get people off IB, the medical should be rearranged without any problem as most are.0
