Keys if your other computer is infected, de-infect it,
download the trial copy of kaspersky antivirus, install it and run it, 30days trial.
that will find and delete any viruses,
then install malwarebytes antispyware, install and run it, quick first, and delete anything it finds, then re-run on the other method and delete
if it comes up with vundo, in either of the programs, doiwnload combofix, run and let it do its thing.
after all that, run hijackthis, and post a log file on here.

option2. depending on how old it is, it should have come with either a restore image or cd or have some recovery factory program installed which will make it like it came from the factory.

options3. using a windows xp cd, format and reinstall from scratch, making sure you have the drivers on cd for it.

Just a note to say Thankyou to all that helped me on my problem.my speakers are now working correctly..for now anyway ..fingers crossed ;-)

And perfect Thankyou Andy for explaining how to sort my other pc out ...I am going to try it this week as I have lots of photos etc on it that I want.
