My old Nokia 6300 doesn't allow you to 'minimise' the application so that you can do something else on the phone whilst using msn or skype.

Do newer Nokia's have this function?

What about other brands?

I don't think it can however I'm sure a phone techie will correct me. :D

The 6300 has the S40 operating system which doesn't support true multitasking so I'm guessing some apps like msn/skype can only be used one at a time.

If you get an S60 phone which some of the newer nokias have then you will be able to minimise it as it were.

    Hope that helps.

My 6500 slide and 6500 classic both have the minimise feature for msn messenger. I don't use skype on my mobile so wouldn't know I'm afraid.

My 6220c can run Fring from https://www.fring.com and Fring has MSN and Skype clients. And yes you can multitask, leaving MSN running while you do something else.

    Absolutely clobbers battery life though.
