    strong plastic bin bags, punch planting holes in about at the level of the first gap in the basket and push in cascading lobelia, petunia or pelargonium type plants, which will quickly hide the plastic Alternate these with plants hanging over the brim of the basket and you should have good results in a short space of time.

    Alternatively, make papier mache liners and paint them then put a plastic bin liner inside of that. There is a way of aging clay pots using live yogurt that I think might also be an effective cover for papier mache. I'll try to hunt out the information on that for you.
