i'd be doubtful that this camera has any more chance of getting LCD damage than any other camera. In a lot of cases, the LCD screens in different makes and models may actually come form the same manufacturer. However, with LCD's screens there's always a risk of breakage.

Maybe it's true however maybe just coincedence rather than a design fault.

I for one am very, very happy with this purchase from Comet. Probably one of the best cameras you can get for that money. Quality is awesome.

Just seems a bit odd that the screens seem to be cracking in the same place, i was going to get one myself but not so sure

I posted a question to the very busy dpreview.com forum this morning and no one answered. I then bumped it up to ask again and still no one answered. So I assume they haven't heard of anything. I've bumped it one more time for the US users to see.

I saw this in our Comet today and preordered one but after reading about the screen I think I will just go for the canon one I wanted originally.

I ordered one of these two weeks ago and as i am usually at work asked for and paid for a guaranteed delivery on Wednesday ie last Wed. It didn't arrive in spite of staying in all day. I rang to report it hadn't been delivered about 6.20 that evening. Just as well, as next day Comet rang to say Amtrak had reported they couldn't deliver but had left a ticket at 5.45pm. A likely story! I explained about my 6.20 call which proved non -receipt and asked for a delivery on Saturday- to-day.

Needless to say no-one has turned up to-day either. It's not as if I live miles from anywhere. I'm getting seriously ******* off with them as I tought a guarnteed delivery meant just that and I wanted to use it this weekend. Has anyone else had problems with Comet's Am trak delivery?

I,ve used Amtrak before and they are very poor for a courier company.Comet sent my camera via Parcelforce and it was delivered on time. Once took a case of wine back to Amtraks depot to be returned to Virgin wines and 3 weeks later the exact same case was left on my doorstep !!!! Would never use them again after this incident.

I don't have this one but I do have an earlier model Nikon Coolpix which I am very happy with. The Panasonic does have a Leica lens though which apparently have a very good reputation.

Bought this camera from comet last week, nice camera until it started making a clicking noise when zooming in n out. got worse n lense woudnt retract back in fully.

Has this happen to anyone else?
