If any of you MSE girls like creating dresses out of old curtains and making corsages from scraps of felt and old ribbons, Eithne's book "Yeah, I made It Myself" is a real money saving inspiration.

Ooh, thats' another thing (sorry, all of a sudden got lots to say lol)..my local charity shops sell rly rly cheap sets of curtains, in super vintagey floral prints - perfect for new summer dresses!!

You'll love the book, PirateFairy 'cos like me you snaffle curtains to make into dresses!
Your dress sense sounds so much like a friend of mine...pretty fabrics, bright cardis and ribbons. I bet you love patterned tights, too.

hehe think we crossed posts there goanmad!!
Certainly do, anything floral tights-wise is super..there's a lot of super legings suddenly available too, got some black and white rose print ones from Topshop in the sale, and now theres some grey ones in Dorothy Perkins..also managed to find a pair of blue bird print ones on the Limited Ed. section of New Look's website last week for just £8..Like I say, I never ever wear trousers, so with the recent crappy Shropshire weather, leggings and tights are the only way to go sometimes!!

Ok, I confess, I love Uggs, and I do have a pair of gladdies, but they're quite tame (not up the legs).;)

Today I am wearing a black, purple and gold mini shift dress from Asda ages and ages ago, with black havaianas (the best flips in the world)!

Off to London tomorrow for weekend of shopping with my Mum for her 60th, so just about to start packing. The dilemma shall begin!!!!:rotfl:

Take comfy shoes for shopping time.. I made the mistake of tackling Oxford Street in the January Sales in my comfiest heels, but by lunchtime my feet were in agony - was a good excuse to buy some new shoes tho!!

Hello ladies, glad we are still here!

Today I'm mostly wearing old stuff!

Grey suit trousers from Next clearence about 5 years ago, probably cost no more than £20, not wearing the jacket as it is a bit snug!
Lilac, textured top, BHS back in 2002 about £10
Same black george shoes and black lancaster bag as yesterday
Have also got the same grey cardie in my back just in case it get chilly.

Jewellery is also the same as yesterday but I have changed my earrings to an amathyst pair that cost about £6 from warren james in 2001 and a necklace from dotty p that I bought at the same time.

Won't be on tomorrow as I'm at a wedding but I will be wearing:
Purple Monsoon dress, £75 but bought by the bride
Silver faith sandals, borrowed from a friend
Silver clutch bag, new look bought at christmas for another wedding and my christmas party, not expensive......
Black M&S plunge bra and George "control pants"
    Lilac Pashmina - borrowed
Jewellery - amathyst earrings present years ago, amathyst and pearl pendant £8 at a craft market a few years ago, amathyst ring - borrowed, engagement and wedding rings, bracelet and watch both presents ages ago.

So I have managed a technically spend free wedding outfit - result!

Just to extra MSE the present is also technically spend free as I have used vouchers I got from my wedding list to buy an item that I wanted off our list that we didn't get, but it is on BOGOF so the free one makes a fairly generous looking pressie!

Total spend for the day, a bit of petrol, £3 for a card, some wrapping paper and a few soft drinks after the free stuff runs out! Quality!

Wow what a lovely outfit............ have a great time tomorrow xx

Thanks for the tip piratefairy, thought I'd wear Uggs to travel, take ballet pumps and flat gladiators for day (depending on wet or dry!), and some heels for night - i'm sooooo excited!

I am an ugg lover! I have 4 pairs and will be getting my 5th soon. I do think they are slightly uggly (sorry, couldn't resist!) but as soon as you put a pair on you can't help but fall in love! I think the only way to wear them is with skinny jeans or leggings tucked in, or whith a shortish skirt. I think they look terrible if worn with trousers or a long skirt over them!

I'm a bit undecided about the gladiators. I think I sort of like them but I don't think I'd ever wear them. They only look good on a select few people in my opinion.

Whilst we are discussing footwear, what does everyone think of boots with an open toe? I think they are totally wrong, I look at them and think 'thats just not right', boots are supposed to keep your feet warm - if you want your toes out, wear sandals!
  • I adore my uggs, they are the comfiest warmest thing's i've ever had on my feet. Well worth the £140 i spent on them. I've used them for 2 winters and will easily get next winter out of them. I also love my gladiators, not the half way up your leg ones. Mine are just around my ankle. I dress quiet conservativly, but i do 'nod' to the odd fashion trend. I just pick and choose which trend i like and what suits me.

Feline princess i don't really 'get' the open toe boot thing either, boots are for winter.
