opening a current account with no credit history

    Get on the voters roll, then apply. If you've got no credit history then this is the most important thing.

    You do not need to wait for the council to send the electoral form around. I visited the councils website, filled the form in online, they posted it to me, I signed and returned and that was it.

    I suggest you could speed the process up a little if you go about it this way.
    Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
