I'm looking for some advise regarding an old outstanding orange contract.
I took the orange contract in 2003, the contract was taken out in an orange shop and the only way they would let me have a contract, was if i paid £250 (cash) deposit. After 6 month with the contract i lost my job and couldn't effort to keep paying the contract so they cut me off.
Then i had a letter from a debt collection agency for an outstanding bill of £244! When i phone them to say that i paid £250 deposit (which i've never had back!) and that if i owed any money they have my deposit the company have ask me for proof, which i don't have as it's been 6 years since taken out the contract.
Now today i had a letter from a different collection agency saying that unless i pay in the next week that they will be taking me to court.
Plus the bill has now gone up because of court costs etc...
Is there anything i can do? If i have to pay it i will, but how can i get the £250 deposit back or is there a way around this?

I doubt you will get the deposit back ever as you didnt hold up your end of the agreement.
EDIT: It will have left a stain on your credit file anyway.0
