No worries The Saint, the only language needed on this thread as in all other threads on MSE is friendliness and politeness and of course be nice to all money savers.
Will be nice to see your first post up again beer and hope everyone finds you across here.0 -
Hi saint
Alot of the people that post on the thread are involved one way or another with alcohol, it ( the old thread ) started off with every post being about alcohol, but went into a sort of meeting place where we tend to talk about our problems when we need to, but also just talk amongst ourselves about our lives.
It works, in a strange sort of way. We cheer each other up and you can't do that, just by talking about how bad we feel all the time.
Thats the way I look at it anyway.
Each of us has already done our big, "I have problems with alcohol" post, most of us many times.“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0 -
Yes, you are right its a "support thread" which means everyone supports each other, thats what friends normally do. Do you only talk about one subject continuously with your friends? There is no special code or language its called being there and could also be known as caring about others.
Those who choose to post here are fully aware of how the thread runs and that not everything in life has to be a one track pony. I hope the thread will be of help to you and that you will be able to join in the happy as well as sometimes hard times without having any problems.

Thats an interesting question, as I started the thread, only I know the purpose it was started for.........and this is it, to cheer everyone up and give help.
So that is what is happening, if you don't like it, don't look.“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0 -

The_Saint wrote:No, I go on the appropriate board and talk about that particular subject, or go on a board with a title that is for anything, not one such as this which has a title for a particular subject. This thread makes a mockery of the use of the MSE Chat Forum and misguides members.
The difference being on this thread is the fact it is a "support thread" and being there for people includes "appropriate" conversations that include everyday happenings and a joke or two when "appropriate". This is after all a thread on a "chat" forum. If you feel you have a problem or someone close who has a problem and you choose to post about it, it would be taken very seriously and would be treated in the "appropriate" manner, as all of the other posters will have found and is the reason for their returning to this thread time and time again.
