Tesco are very efficient and friendly.. I've had their Platinum card for many years. First Direct are the best but their credit card offerings are very average - no perks (I have their visa as a standby)

I know I'm biased but PLEASE avoid MBNA..they look like they have the best deals..big limits etc.....It would be preferable to sell your soul to the Devil....do your self a favour and learn by MY mistakes!

First Direct have the best customer service I've ever experienced (call centres in Leeds and Hamilton, Glasgow). smile came a close second (call centre at Stockport I think it is). M&S Money have been good although there have been communication problems when I've called their call centre and ended up being routed to their offshore site - the Chester call centre is excellent.

Thinking back, I have had good experiences with Halifax customer services. I tend to avoid call centres as much as physically possible; i.e. I read the site's FAQ, ask other people, guess, but failing all that I pick up the phone and pray I'm not waiting long and get the answer I want.

Egg Money team are fantastic. I have no hesitation ringing them up for a chat for anything relating to my card. Even their replies to your secure messages get a friendly response with a hint of personal attention thrown in for free.

Ditto that. I don't know where they are based, but they've always been lovely and helpful.

We should all ask where they are based next time we phone and create a thread with this information; it might be useful one day.

I really rate Amex for customer service, both online and on the phone. Always local call centres, answered quickly and I've NEVER had to call them back about anything ever, always fixed first time. Some people are put off by the fact not everywhere accepts them, but for me it's fab. I typically only use it in supermarkets, petrol stations etc and pay it off in full.

    I like the perks
, but it is each to their own.

    Seconded...

I forgot to say, I phoned Natwest once (not a customer) enquiring about a bank account. They answered instantly with no annoying options - I was shocked :silenced:. Anyone else?
