Daughter want to ring Majorca - please explain Rebtel to me!
Options
My daughter is on T-Mobile and wants to call someone in Majorca who is on pay-as-you-go. She has signed up to Rebtel and has been given the number to ring. She rang her friend who then hung up and called the number displayed on his phone to reconnect.
Am I right in thinking that the call will then come under her pay monthly plan and therefore not cost her anything extra and that her friend will pay for a local call out of his pay-as-you-go minutes?
Does she have to call and get him to call back every time she rings him?
Please someone explain as I have the flu and Im very woolly headed at the moment!!!

Not too sure about the logic of that.
ff your daughter's freind is on a local i.e Spanish PAYG Tariff then it may work. If he/she is on a UK PAYG they'll get charged for ringing the spanish number. Please note: You and your friend will pay your phone companies for the local part of the call. The international connection is free!0 -
I assume they have a spanish payg sim.
Its all explained here http://www.rebtel.com/en/How-it-works/How-to-make-a-smart-call/
If your daughter is calling a uk geographical access number yes it will come out of her inclusive minutes, and yes a callback is required every time.0 -
Her friend in Majorca has a local pay as you go sim. My daughter is on a monthly contract so Im thinking the calls she makes will come under her monthly plan and therefore not cost her any extra?0

Should be OK then - how do these companies make any money?0
-
I don't know how they make money.
But am I right in thinking it will cost my daughter's friend a local call as well as the call being added to my daughter's monthly plan?0 -
The site isn't that clear, but as your daughter doesn't hang up then she is still being charged for the UK call.
Also you'd need to check the number she dials isn't a non-geographic (0870 , 0845) or a personal number (07** I think).0
