No problem selling it on Amazon - 1943 edition currently listed for £200.
Interesting arguement about the ownership / selling of it. Like it or not, it is one of the most significant works in modern times. I hope that it would be purchased by someone with a genuine interest in studying the history of it and the discontent that caused it to be written in the first place (perhaps drawing some modern parallels), and not by some BNP thug.
To burn it would be to deny it's existance. Failure to understand history is one of the biggest mistakes that can be made.

how can you find solace on that racist tw*t
If only there was a smilie that depicted irony.
I caught a clip of BM on a show the other week. They had a joke held up as one of his unacceptable racist ones.
I thought it was really funny not cos it was racist but it was as jimmy carr put it. A joke is essentially 2 stories. the first half allows you to make an assumption and the second shatters that assumption and you laugh at yourself for making such an assumption in the first place.
With this joke you could subsitute loads of different themes in and still have a great joke.
I've adapted it here.
A thief walks into a bar with a parrot on his sholder and the barman asks where did you get that.
The parrot replied - The palace of westminster; its full of them.0 -
Hello again,
Once again thank you for all your replies. It has been very interesting reading everybodies view points with regard to the importance of historical texts such as this. Like it or not it is part of history and something that I'm sure we all hope would never be repeated. Many people here have said it better than I could but it is indeed something that should be learnt from and not forgotton. I think this book demonstrates how the views of one can become so widely accepted strating with the written word.
Just to clarify a few points here ... It is first edition by that publisher in english. Not first edition in German. It would be worth a lot more I imagine!! I feel I should touch on the BNP classifieds point but I don't wish to flame or offend so just to say that selling the book to anyone who may support the views found within would be completely against everything I believe in. What I would like to do to the BNP is probably not what should be discussed on the ebay forum!House saving Targets:

I also thought this was aimed at the UK rather than German 'youngsters'. I also believe it is because young people are not generally taught modern history to any great depth nowadays that some of the more extreme parties are able to do so well in the polls.

I don't want to go completely off topic but I do honestly feel the same. I think it's a dissassociation from what happenned then and what we see now. I don't think racist behaviour just appears, it creeps in through subtle comments and turning a blind eye and the extreme political parties can dig into that crack. Oh I could go on a rant!House saving Targets:

Because even though I didn't think it was I am aware that some people are very sensitive* and therefore might take offence; and I don't want to offend anyone on a MSE forum.
Plus I think that its much more topical and funny to change it to the theiving scum who think its OK for me to pay to have the holiday home treated for dry rot, or for their hubby's !!!!!! etc.
*By very sensitive I mean people that seem to go out of their way to be offended - think those that complained about Brass eye "peado-gedon", Jerry springer opera, Wossy and brand's phone calls etc only after watching a repeat. That said I understand why some people of ethnic decent percive racism where there is none purely because they've been subjected to so much.0
