  • Thank you so much Bethankim for such a helpful contribution, it's so kind of those of you who do this - taking time to help others out at such a strange and stressful time. MANY thanks also to those who do the bumping - particularly Dojoman.
I've been a lurker on the BR board for a while now and am finally starting on the scary road...this board is fantastic, thank you all.
I've set up my new CoOp a/c and am trying to pluck up the courage to call Mortgage Provider, secured loan co., credit cards etc etc. None defaulted to date but will be from tomorrow!
I've looked over the forms and am daunted! Bethankim's suggestions however have made the task less so, I just need to sort the jumble in my head of things I need to do, I have notes on paper all over the place so time to get them in to some sort of 'Action order' maybe??!!
Thanks to you all again, hopefully I'll be able to join the Bankruptcy Club soon!

  • I am ready to file this coming Tuesday, I have everything ready, have even arranged to borrow the fee from sis-in-law who will wait for a year no interest BUT I have heard that there is a form that you can present to show your income so so low that you don't even have to pay the fee. (would be great not to borrow anymore from anyone while still unemployed)
Have scoured the Insolvency service website but cannot find a link.
Anyone know what it is called and how I can find it online?
    Thanks in advance

The form you want is the EX160 http://www.ned-cab.org.uk/debtselfhelp/bankruptcy_ex160_1.shtml

If you are in receipt of certain benefits this is the exemption form for the £175 court fees, unfortunately you still have to pay the fees to the OR of £525.

thanks this has been a great help I am going through all my forms and writing notes down ready to complete them before 7th Feb ( court date).
I have dates of start of credit cards/loans etc but last year because of state was in. had a few payday loans which I paid on time. Stupid I know, do I put that I had these on my reasons I don't owe any money on them

Also because I spent money on an on line gambling site I know they will give me a very hard time. Lots of life events going on last few years and has resulted in my being now on benefits first time ever and I am now not working.

I dont have exact figure for amount for gambling ( it is closed down) and I really regret being on it. It took away the stress for a while but reality kicks in and leads to more stress.

Very anxious about going to court and OR etc but know its the right thing for me to do. Have £37K debts
