I hope some one can help,
I have set up a wireless network sucessfully with a linskey WRT54GS-UK, but as I have an old house with some thick walls, half the house has a strong signal , but drops off rapidly, is there such a thing as some sort of relayer for the signal to spred the signal. two laptops are linked to the system.
thanks in anticipation.

Two options that I can think of, get yourself a range extender such as Linksys WRE54G which cost you around £60 .. or get another Linksys WRT54GS (£50 for bundle/PCWorld/Currys and sell the USB adapter to your friend or ebay it) .. and run the second WRT54GS in WDS mode. Put the second WRT54GS in half way thru .. where the signal drops drastically.
EDIT: Some ebay shops are selling antenna replacement, I've no idea how good is this solution. Look under:

in the end the OP swapped it for a Netgear..
If you really do have a range problem, a mimo router might be better, as they have a far better rangeEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
