Samsung Jet - Can the internet element be locked?
Options
I'm just trying to do a retention deal with Vodaphone for 6 mobiles and one of the phones (for my son) will hopefully be a Samsung Jet. He doesn't use a mobile much, keeping it more for the games and pictures etc.
I understand that this phone is primarily for connection to the internet, and tries to connect to the internet whenever it is on. But I don't really see the point in connecting it up for my son, but he would like the phone, which if I get free with a deal I'm happy to get.
So the question is, is there a way on the Samsung Jet to lock out access to the internet via a password perhaps? I know Vodaphone can charge me a daily rate for internet access, but I would like to be able to just lock it out altogether.
Any help/info appreciated.

Call vodafone, they should be able to deactivate the data service on the account. Only drawback is that it may affect the MMS service.0

If you're inclined to dive into the phone's settings, there's usually two types of data settings: one for Internet and the other for MMS. If you blank out the APN, username or password for the Internet profile it will either give an error message when trying to go online, or just quietly not connect.0

Many thanks for the info.0
