Definitely nothing precious about the bankers (except their pensions maybe). But you can't confuse the people at the top of these organisations with the peons in the front line (I'll apologise in advance to any peons out there
).
I get as frustrated with badly trained, or ill-informed, or inexperienced CS people as the next person. And given the amount of financial juggling I do, I speak to them more than most. I've only just picked up from HSBC a copy of a 10 minute circular conversation that I had over a card repeat/closure call - mostly for a laugh because it went from banal to ludicrous.
If you were a front liner yourself then I'm surprised you dish it out. You must have had at least one irate idiot ranting infront of you and all you could think was "what deficiency is this moron trying to compensate for"?"A child of five could understand this. Mate i've got no issue with you, I also agree with various posts and accept each point of view as it comes.
All i'm trying to point out (as well as wind up the do-gooders which you did guess right), is that if a bank just took my last £400 or whatever then surely they expect recourse in some capacity and to be fair if they don't want their front liners dealing with this behaviour then when they go about stealing from us and lying to us maybe just maybe they ought to put a local or free number that we can ring to a specialised department and NOT let us go to untrained branch staff.
My understanding is that all front line CSO's were taught an element of agression management and certainly some provision - unfortunately we're not all FONS'ed..... (any one done FONS before then?)
Bottom line, as ex JC+ damn right I give it and accept it as well, dog eat dog. :beer:2010 - year of the troll

If you're having problems with paying off any credit cards, loans etc it may be worth your while to contact either national debtline or consumer credit counselling service for some advice. You could find work next week but it could also be a couple of months off and if this is the case your debt situation will only get worse not better and will affect your credit rating. It's also a good idea to contact your creditors directly and tell them you are now out of work as they will sometimes reduce your payments for a few months for you to take the pressure off whilst you look for work. Don't keep your creditors in the dark as it will only make matters worse. Also it would be a good idea to open an account with another bank so they cannot dip into your account. As well as that do they owe you any bank charge money back on your account or credit card etc? If so time to claim.

But what about the fact im not working and not getting benefits? Im havenothing! And how do they know that I even got the letter because it wasnt recorded delivery. I only found out tonight when I phoned my dad that there was mail for me from last week.
I believe that this probably legal because they always find a way to totally screw people up the !!!! but am I not entitled to get my money back if I prove I have no income and the money was for rent?
You have no money and no income. What makes you think the bank should use their money to pay your rent?0 -
Just a thought... in some instances banks use ROSO (which is what you're talking about) to get the customer to contact them. I don't know whether you've been 'speaking' to HBOS or not, but if you've been avoiding them then undertaking this kind of approach will at least get you on the phone. Importantly, to use ROSO, a bank has to demonstrate that its undertaken sufficient checks to ensure that the customer won't be put under undue hardship. If this is indeed your rent money, then many banks will 'refund' the money as long as you commit to some kind of arrangenent.
Good luck.0 -

The actual term referred to is Right of Set off - ROSO is an unknown abbreviation/acronym which isnt recognised by the consumer - we simply say Right of Set off!

Why do those on benefits think they have more 'right' to their money than a person earning a wage? If a person in the same situation as the OP was earning money instead of benefits surely they would have the same bills etc to pay.0

Bah, no update from the OP on how many new holes he's ripped in the HBOS CS team?"A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0
