going to america i have a triband phone ,will it work in america if it does i will get another one for my husband so if we get lost from one another we could keep in contact.and would i need to get a sim card for them

Yes, tri-band phones work in the US.
You can use your existing SIM cards over there, but check with your service provider that they are enabled for overseas use.0
