Does anyone know whether Tesco are very obliging when it comes to unlocking their phones so that you can use your own sim??
Thanks!0 -
Just been down to my local tesco and sure enough, there were no £15 handsets left. Online it's slim pickings too. What to do at this 11th hour. If I get the cheapest one online, what should I do with the phone?
Thanks,
LT0 -
I have bought 6 of the nokia £14.97 phones so far today and intend to but some more tomorrow. According to the receipts I got the extra 1000 points on each one of them. Checked on Mopay and sell each for £3.
Intend to use the points for airmiles. The young lad behond the counter actually offered my the remaining 40 he had in stock.
Lets just say that if the points dont turn up in vouchers the phones are going back to Mr T.0 -

Hi i have been ummming and ahrrring whether to risk buying anymore or not? I bought the 2 was allowed and would be prepared to risk not getting points if I bought 2 more, but I don't want to have all my points I have earned already taken away as punnishment, Is this likely? Would they ban someone for going over by 2 phones? I have been saving for so long and points could really do with a boost!
Its actually 2 per person, but 5 per household in a month. so you can actually get another 3 without getting in trouble :TEveryone who thanks me when ive helped will get a 5% share when I win this weeks Euromillions......:p0 -
I've just checked the terms and condiitions of the Tesco Mobile 1000 points on their website and when you go to the Promotional Terms & Conditons Page this is what it says:
1000 Clubcard points when you buy any Mobile phone Terms and Conditions- Clubcard points will be awarded in your next clubcard statement.
- Offer ends 24th January 2010.
There's no mention whatsoever of 'number of handsets per customer' limit or anything else.0 -

Bulk Purchase Policy
We operate a bulk purchase policy. In the wider interests of all our customers, purchases are restricted to a maximum of one mobile phone per customer. If a customer orders more than five phones to the same address the order will not be fulfilled.
This seems to have nothing to do with clubcard but mobile phone policy in general. however, if you break those rules they have every right to cancel your points if you werent entiltled to them anyway.Everyone who thanks me when ive helped will get a 5% share when I win this weeks Euromillions......:p0 -
What does it mean "per household"? If you use seperate clubcards, how can they determine you live in the same house? :S
And supposing you live in a communal house. With many, many people who you wouldn't ever talk to. And supposing they had already used up the 5 per household limit. Does that mean you can't do it at all?
By household i assume they mean "family unit" rather than just people living in your house. Of course they have no way of determining this, in my house we are a family of 5 and there are 3 different surnames, but i think if they got suspicious, which they may with people who are buying a ridiculous amount of phones (if not for money laundering fears than anything else) then they could investigate or remove points.
I thin k it would be safest to just buy your allowed 5, maybe 1 or 2 more for "someone else" and be grateful for the £50 of vouchers
Also i think they can tell if you live in the same house if your registered at the same address, which you would be if you want your vouchers sent? if you are registered at different addresses then that is technically two households so you can get 10!Everyone who thanks me when ive helped will get a 5% share when I win this weeks Euromillions......:p0 -

So, I took the online purchase price, allowing for the cashback I made via Top cashback, the ebay sale price, the paypal charges, postage charges and ebay charges, and worked this out from what I SHOULD get back in vouchers.
Total up front costs = £109.04. Clubcard vouchers made = £600.
Total profit towards my degree, £490.96.
I have checked my clubcard online statement and they are ALL on there. In Feb's statement, I will receive £162.50 in vouchers. :j(including my normal points from stuff I normally buy) Thats £650 for my course, which is the cost of one entire module.
So thanks Martin, the gamble DID pay off, and my Tesco 1000 bonus point PAYG mobile is already on eBay
