Hi everyone. Until a couple of months ago I had a website but the provider was taken over twice and no-one would answer my Emails etc.
So now I need a Backordering Provider to try to get the website back.
I enquired at "Godaddy" but they are very evasive and seem to be American even though the site is .co.uk.
So has anyone any experience of this kind of thing?
Is there a reliable UK company who can help?
The site was "trenthouselets.co.uk" and the provider Harman Media
Thanks in advance.

According to Nominet your domain name is still active until Feb 2010 until so you don't need to / can't backorder it (that's just if someone wants to try and grab an expired domain name).
The site is still live on that domain name but as long as you're the legal owner then you can do what you want with it.
The name was registered through 123-reg.co.uk (do you have a login for these?).
I'm guessing your having problems with your host andwant to move the site elsewhere is this correct?0 -
Thanks for reply. The site was set up after I had problems with my trenthouselets.co.uk site which is now working OK. However I used the .com site on all my adverts on other sites and it is no longer working. Do a google search and only the .co.uk site comes up.
Here is a reply from Reseller club.
Hello Michael,
We just checked with the Registry and found out that the Domain is in the process of being Deleted from there as well. It will be deleted in 5 days (Pending Delete Stage) and it should be available for new Registrations after that.
We suggest that you Sign Up with a Backordering Provider so that you can place an Order for the Domain even before it gets Deleted. If you do not Backorder the Domain there are chances that someone else might Register it as soon as the Registry Deletes it from their system. Backordering the Domain will increase your chances of Registering it after it gets Deleted.
Regards & Best Wishes,
ResellerClub Sales Team,
Any suggestions?0 -
I think your stuck with trying to re-register the domain yourself once it expires. A domain back ordering service will try to grab it when it's deleted but there is no guarantee you'll get it. Be prepared that you may not.
Even if you do decide to try and backorder it keep trying yourself as well.
Unfortunately for you, the trading in deleted domains is big business but even if someone else registers the name keep an eye on for a week or two. Sometimes they are dropped straight away.
If you do get it make sure you are down as the contact for any future renewals.0 -
I would ignore that reply you've received, it doesn't make sense.
You own the domain and your agreement is with nominet, through a third party 123-Reg.
If you have tried to contact 123-Reg and they won't help you then contact Nominet:
01865 332244
If you can prove you own the domain name, ID matching address etc then they will move it to a new registrar (someone other than 123-Reg) for you for a £10 fee.

The domain name is a .com not a co.uk. Nominet don't have anything to do with a .com0

did you transfer the domain from 123-reg to the new host, or did you just point the domain ?
you should be able to tell in the 123-reg domain panel
also do you want the site saving / moved from the present host ?Silenced by the Gestapo :rotfl:0 -
This site, .com one, was set up by Harman media and I cannot get in touch with them, Emails go unanswered.0

If you type the name of the domain into https://www.who.is, is it your name and address that comes up, or that of Harman media?Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0
