So then.. All has gone quiet regarding this subject.. Especially those who screamed CASH IN CASH in... Well I got my payout today.
Paid in over 15 years with added life insurance..Total paid in £6480.
Paid to me today 2/3/2016 £12261.42
Funny how all those who crunched figures and filled these pages with complicated numbers and percentages and in depth opinions have all gone away. Everyone should know that theses things look crap but you have to bear with it.I am one very happy person and am so glad I went with my own instincts.0 -

Your total contribution of £36pm over 15 years would require an annual return of about 13% before charges and costs.
yet maturities of less than a year ago (and before a stockmarket crash of 20%) were coming out at the more typical 6% figure.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Well, that's brilliant tyrosteve! I have another policy running for another couple of years - be nice if it does as well as yours. You don't even notice that you're sticking a few pounds away every month, but you'll sure notice the nice cheque coming your way ☺.0

Dont assume it is correct. The figures are not consist with the returns on the fund.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Well I don't expect he's making it up. I don't expect to get anywhere near his payout but it'd certainly be great if it did! You also get a maturity bonus applied on maturity which you throw away if you cash in earlier. I was happy with my payout a couple of years ago and I'm happy to leave my other policy til the end.0

Hey! What do you mean don't assume its correct. That's like me saying don't assume that you know what you are talking about but I would not be so rude.I stated my payout and it is a FACT not an (expert)opinion. Just because it does not fit with your opinion does not mean it is not true.0 -

I would be more than happy to provide evidence that the payout is correct0 -

I do not doubt your payout. I just wonder if you have the contributions right.
As I said, your rate of return is way higher than what others are getting and not within the expectation for this plan. If you have got lucky for a niche period then fair enough. However, it is certainly nowhere near a normal figure for this type of plan.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. I received my payout today. I started on £30 per month, rising to £60 for the last 10 years. Total paid in was £9720. My payout was £20016.63
I'm pretty pleased with that. Not sure how to work out the return but would imagine it's good.0 -
Again, yours is way above the typical expectation for this plan. So, it appears you are getting lucky with timing. People that had theirs maturing a year ago were getting peanuts above the amount paid.
