  • :)Hi, please can someone help!!!

I have just come across this thread last week. After remembering I have two policies.

The first one matures 6th march 2015 paying in £10 pm, then increasing £2 pm every year. £20 a month from 2005.

The second one matures 5th June 2016, paying in £10 pm and increasing £2 pm every year. Paying in £20 per month from 2006.

I called Axa sun life last week to ask for a surrender value for both policies. I was told on the phone I could only be given a quote for the later policy, and couldn't retrieve the first policy on the computer. Very strange. I was told they would send out a copy of the first policy in the post. I am still waiting!!

For the second policy my surrender value quote was £3265.77. I asked what would the projected figure for maturity in 2016 at 4% = £4390 and 8% £4830

I really do not know what to do, I am not very good with numbers and money.

I am a single full time working mum, I'm not too sure how much tax I will have to pay on this??? Can anyone please please give me some advice???

    Would be very grateful!!

I have figured out I have 4 life insurance policies!! Two which are Axa sun life!!

    Thanks

My policy has just matured, guaranteed pay out of £6,600.. I received over double this with bonuses. So pleased !!
  • I also had a really pleasing payout. I have given the breakdown details on a more recent thread. I got back £14,011.90 after 15 years starting payment was £20 rising to £40. I think if you cash these plans in early you get a really bad return so phoning Axa and asking them for a surrender value is likely to give you a fright. I'm so glad I stuck with my plan. I was so shocked when I looked at my bank account after reading all the scare stories and the payout was on the same day as maturity. I nearly fell off my chair:T sooo pleased!
  • Hi

Does anyone who has reclaimed back payments from Axa sun life (on there cash builder policy) , plus bonuses etc , got copies of Jonathanen's reclaim letters , believe there are three. I have just tried his link on this thread , and it's dead. Can anyone repost them ?

    Yours Appreciatively,

    Will

After reading the horror stories I decided to contact Friends Life (I know is should have been keeping a regular eye on it but hey ho...did'nt). By the end of the 15 yrs in October 2014 I'll have paid in £7950 and the surrender value they gave me today was £11570 with a projected maturity value of £12100 so I think I've had a luck escape.
