I just recieved my card from play.com and brought a tv from amazon.co.uk which took it upto 1pence from its limit, but ive just logged onto my account and it has pending transactions at £1 more than my limit.. so will i lose the 9months interest free on purchases or not???
i know the £2 extra a a validation thing that internet companys pend to validate your details but all the features from my online account have disappeared (PIN, Transfer Balances, Insurance Products, My Promotions) which were all their before i paid online for it.. and also from my manage account screen the raise limit options has been removed!!!!
any comments appreciated as i dont want to be paying interest for this stupid mistake!!
please just thank me:p

You shouldn't, no. Since these pending payments will never appear on your statement, they should never actually take you over your limit, and you should be fine.

If they do take you off your promotional rate, I would wait until the statement comes through, ring them up and say "oi, none of these transactions put me over my limit... so fix it!!".
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

They've seen you coming and it is more likely that effectively they have removed your special interest rate and put you back on the higher one. Some banks are very strict and if you go over you credit limit, they will not hesitate to remove your offers.

well id think its pretty harsh to withdraw a promotional rate just because of a£2 pending validation transaction (from any provider) that will never appear on my statement (as they will never complete it, as its just for checks) so ill never actually go over my limit via transactions completing as 'nzseries1' suggests.. ive just made a payment of £5 to the card via online banking so hopefully it will go via faster payments service and appear before midnight so ill be under my limit when the new day changes... fingers crossed
    please just thank me:p

Re-read nzseries1's reply - gave you the answer. Have no idea where stephane got their reply from.

to be honest 'stephane' has been right on this occasion.. my payment has gone through and am now not over limit, and all options have appeared on my online account EXCEPT the 'My Promotions' bit so looks as if they have been withdrawn.. but as 'nzseries1' suggest just call them and say that ive never actually been over my limit and to sort it out
    please just thank me:p

Interesting. Are you saying that Play.com's online systems are dynamic in the options it presents you based on the status of your card?

I'd have thought it more likely the differences you were seeing were a temporary glitch on their website. Promotions showing or not showing I can understand, but PIN options I'd have thought would be there regardless?

well not really, withdrawing PIN services, balance transfers, increase limit etc are all relevant to be 'over' my limit on a pending basis as you shouldnt be able to do any of these's things when you over limit.. also i doubt if its a glitch as my other MBNA card online services showed my promotions online and all other features

and as said they disappeared when over limit and when i made payment to bring back into limit they featured again....

    Basically yes

    seems common sense to me
    ~~over limit =
-not being able to spend on card (remove pin)
-no room to transfer balances (remove option)
-over limit = lose promotions (remove link)
    etc

    now back in limit =
-can spend on card (show pin)
    -transfer balances (show link)
-broke t+c =removal of promotional rates (no link to view promotions as they've been removed)
    please just thank me:p

How far within the limit are you now?

Reason I ask is that in my experience (with 2 x MBNA run cards) the balance transfer tab is removed once you're using over 95% of your credit limit, ie at around 98% following the initial maximum BT allowed.
