So I sold a £50 voucher on ebay buyer paid by paypal and I sent the code of by email he said it worked and left me feedback.
two weeks later I get an email saying he puts in a claim saying he hasnt recieved anything.
I goto paypal and respond to this telling them now I have options to provide proof it was sent but it only gives me option to put in a trackking number and to put which courier I sent it with obviously I sent it by email so only have email proof.
The guy is from germany what can I do will paypal clock on and help me or reward the scammer with a refund?
I also had an email from another ebay user saying he is going through the same process with the buyer but only for a £10 voucher.
Is there any chance I can win this claim ?

I'm afraid you have lost out as you did not sell a physical item You are not allowed to sell items that are sent by email. As he never physically received anything he will win the claim. You should have sent him the code via Snailmail Tracked then you would have been selling something physical and you would have been covered y paypal. LINK HEREPayPal Buyer Protection helps you if you don't receive your item or the item is significantly different from its description in the seller's listing. For items bought on eBay.co.uk, eligible transactions are covered up to the full purchase price and original P&P charges. For items bought on eBay.ie, you may receive protection up to €1,000.00 at no additional cost.
An item is covered by PayPal Buyer Protection if it meets the following eligibility requirements:- The “This item is fully protected when you pay with PayPal” message is displayed in the seller listing information.
- You purchase your item on eBay.
- You use PayPal to pay for the item.
- You use the seller's email address associated with the listing. To ensure this, use the Pay Now button when the eBay listing ends.
- The seller’s eBay listing is for a physical item. Services and intangible items are not protected.
So as you did not follow policy you are not covered the buyer obviously new this and took advantage. I'm afraid you will have to chalk this down to experience0 - The “This item is fully protected when you pay with PayPal” message is displayed in the seller listing information.

Yes you could as they are breaking listing rules and wont be covered. If i was you and you are considering continuing to sell I would look at Paypal and Ebay T&Cs to make sure you are covered.0 -
This is a very unfortunate situation and is a rare occurance that a naive seller meets a scammer in this way.OK you broke ebay rules and sold something that gave you no seller protection at all and most of the time you would have got away with it, although you might have had the auction pulled first of course. However you were very unlucky to meet a less than honets buyer on this occasion.
There are buyers that trawl ebay for basic errors liek this, so you may well have been specifically targetted.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I always wondered why people on ebay paid more for Amazon evouchers than their face value, now I know, it's because they scam their money back, and get the voucher as well!0

Isn't this backwards.
I thought there was no BUYER protection for intangible items. So the buyer can't claim a refund.
It's worth having a go with paypal claiming it wasn't a physical voucher, just an email, and should not be eligable for their, or ebays, buyer protection.
Or is it me that's got it wrong?0 -

Technically it could have been tangible if they had posted the voucher codes. So it is easy to claim non receipt. It may be worth trying what you suggest. Not sure if it would get anywhere but the OP has nothing to loose0 -
Dont know what others think. Could the OP send a recorded letter to the buyer with the codes in now? Would it arrive in time and would Paypal accept it? just a thought0
