Sim Only - swictching

I have a 1 month rolling sim-only contract with Vodafone.

Iam planning to cancel this and take up the 1 month sim-only from O2. (and retain the same number)

I understand i need to give 30 notice notice to Vodafone. What happens to the number once this is cancelled? Will it be switched to PAYG now?

How do i get O2 sim with this number?

Thanks!

You need to request your PAC code from Vodafone and give it o2, that'll move your number over.

You can request it at the same time or shortly afterwards

The PAC is valid for 30 days, and you give it to O2 when you want to switch. Note that the number will be switched within 2 to 5 days or so of you making the request; they'll tell you when it will be, within half a day.

This means if you do it too early, you'd still be paying Vodafone for your 30 days notice without being able to use the rest of your minutes.

So I'd suggest give notice, ask for the PAC, then operate the PAC about a week before the 30 days notice are up (or a bit earlier if you've used up nearly all your Vodafone monthly minutes anyway).
