Was that really necessary?
By the way, there is an 'edit' button if you want to add more to your post."Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for."

I have nothing further to add to me previous post, but thanks for advising me about the edit button, although if I'm honest then I already knew it was there and what it allows me to do.0 -
I'd been over my credit limit with egg for 15 months without knowing it (very long story, don't ask! lol). Can confirm credit report is just a long line of green 0's. Apart from the charges, it has no other effect.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

With the new reporting format, your credit report will show a historical balance on your card and historical credit limit. So lenders will be able to see that you've exceeded your limit even though you're making regular payments.
At the moment with those that haven't adopted it yet, you can "clean" your report by bringing your balance down within your limit.
As an example from a Halifax card that I cancelled a while ago:Credit Limit : £12,250
Credit Limit History: £12,400 (02/09); £12,500 (01/09); £13,150 (12/08); £14,200 (08/08);I was stoozing the card and making the minimum repayments and got a letter from them each month saying they were reducing the limit. I've still got a string of 0's showing though"A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -
Fortunately Egg don't seem to do that (yet). Or didn't since I've got it tamed.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

You could try speaking to the CC company and asking what their records will show. If you don't like the answer you could remind them that they were sitting on your payment longer than you were over your limit.0
