Car Servicing

Thats wrong.
I can service my own car and as long as i have proof that i fitted genuine bits they cant turn down the warranty claim.
The reason the VAT Registered is often mentioned is it shows that it is a professional person doing the work instead of some idiot with no idea what they are doing.
If it came to a claim and you could show that you are a 'qualified person' through experience etc you will probably be OK. But if they can find something that looks like you did it wrong you might have issues.0 -
I would take a new car to a dealer. The main reason is that other garages do not have access to tech computers for software updates and minor recall notices. The man without a signature.0

You would need to prove that the services fully complied with the recommended schedules and that genuine parts had been fitted. Very hard to do if you did it yourself.
The other thing to consider is if things go wrong out with warranty you have far more recourse if you have payed the premium for the dealer.
The block exemption benefits are a myth as if you have a new car its well worth paying the extra for the added protection you receive0
