My cat has just been bitten by an adder (last week) and was just wondering what the outcome was? how long did it take for swelling to go down etc?
She was bitten on her face :-( thankfully the swelling has now gone down which has now made it apparent that it was a snake bite as the puncture wounds are now visable. Before we just thought she had eaten a wasp.
I have never seen swlling like it to be honest, she didnt loko anything like her, the swelling is only just starting to go down 5 days later.
And for whoever said that adder bites wont fatal they are like a bee sting, you forget that a bee sting can be fatal to a cat!!
Also, how did you get on for getting the money back through insurance? thanks x
Our cat got bitten by an adder inside his mouth in June, the bite was visible in his mouth. His face was very swollen, he couldn't close his mouth and eyes because of the swelling.
He was incontinent (another classic sign) and his eyes had become infected.
After several injections he was on the mend but it took well over a week for him to get back to normal, well as normal as he will ever get.
Hope your cat will be ok.0
