Flights from the UK to Toronto

I flew, earlier this year (March), from Glasgow to Toronto with Air Transat booked through Canadian Affair.
The flights cost me £400. I had upgraded on the way out and i also paid to pick my seats on the way out and on the way back.
I'm trying to book flights for May 2010 but i don't think Air Transat are doing anything except extra leg room now as they are changing the planes (i think) so no upgrades are available.
Does anyone know of flights that will be roughly the same price as last year with a one way upgrade that won't cost more than £400. I don't want to have to go to Amsterdam on the way and will travel to another airport in the UK (as long as that doesn't end up costing more - i live in Fife, Scotland)
Any advice on going over to Toronto will be greatly appreciated folks - thanks

Out of interest, BA in is currently £390 return for next May, including your feeder flights from Glasgow to Heathrow. All in/out of T5.
Economy on a BA 747 is quite pleasant.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
I wouldn't fly with Air Trans again!
On a recent flight from Toronto to London Gatwick there was this drunken Irish family on board, one of which wouldn't stop farting during the flight. It was a awful experience0 -

I made the mistake of flying with them some years ago. The next time I took BA.0 -
Yep, you don't want to be sat in Cattle class, it was pretty horrendous - that's why i'm trying to find something else now you can no longer upgrade0
