Easy - If you spend on things you don't need, give your OH you bank card, then you CAN'T spend anything. Keep £10 in your purse for an EMERGENCY. I do my food shopping online, it stops me impulse buying and I know how much my shopping is going to cost before I get to the till. Look into making extra when making food and freeze the extra portion (use what is going out of date before it does so you don't bin any). We are all going to have it tough and you need to stop wasting money now, for not only you, but your familys' well being. Good Luck and stick at it! xAugust wins: BBQ, Solar Garden Lights, Seeds0

Make a list of the food you have got and see how many meals you can make. If you have to buy try very hard to only buy what you need.
Make an inventory of the cleaning products then USE THEM UP FIRST!!!
Good Luck0 -
go through your cupboards write a list of everything you hav in them also fridge and freezer then sit and make a list of meals with what you have meal plan in advance i usually do a week ahead sometimes 2 then i know what needs to go on my shopping list what i have in stock etc, no overspending or food wastage. i take out £40 week from our account it covers extra bits for week milk bread fruit veg etc, school dinners etc any extra left end of week goes in a pot.i also have pots for saving for birthdays/christmas etc it all helps and i like to be organised. in regards to your card i think the freezer sounds a great idea:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

You need to find something else to do. Try clearing out a draw or cupboard, throw away old broken stuff, give away things you've bought but dont need or like and then make a decision to wear unworn clothes watch unssen DVD's whatever. Decide ,say once a month,on a treat and save up for it,could be a book or a bunch of flowers or bottle of nail polish. This approach gives focus and makes things more achievable."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0

Why?
I think if it is that bad you need to write down your feelings as you go to work out why you are buying things you do not need...If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
well im going to stock up or buy in bulk from JTF or costco on household essentials like my washing up liquid in a massive bottle, washing powder or make some glope again, get my startdrops back in the cupboard etc, ihave even thought about making my own soaps and hand washes which will save me some money.
I am also going to make a food plan on a weekly basis and take your tips into consideration by going through my cupboards and seeing what i actually need.
I think il take out the cash the night before shopping day and tell my partner to hide my cards, last night i asked him to do this as i hjave £40 in the cupboard which i will use for fridays shop.
if you have any more tips on things i can make or any tips for any other cleaning products i can make with cheap ingredients etc that would be fab.Trying to make big cut backs!!!

What for? Do you NEED that much washing stuff right now??? Are you doing washing for a football team? I get a big box of fairy when it is on offer and use half a tab each time and it lasts a year.
What have you already got in the cupboards? Do a stocktake and use that up first. There are a gazillion threads on here detailing all the different cheap cleaning products...use what you already have in your house before you go spending again.
And that goes for food; don't just go through the cupboards, do a stock take - write it all down - note what you are going to use that product for and only get what you NEED until the stocks go down.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0
