Thanks, I did see that post with all those long links, but I can never get time to read more than a few posts on each, hence asking if it was ok to start a new thread. Thanks anyway.0

right ...i have 3 days off work ..so starting tomorrow i am going to make some inroads into the kitchen(inspired by someone who posted about a 'baking' cupboard...i want one !!) so i shall attempt to turf out some rubbish and un-kitcheny stuff and make myself a baking cupboard(well it's a start)...
i have got to bake some bread tomorrow so i shall us the 'proving' as my timer...how much can you get done in the time it takes to prove a loaf...we shall see....0 -
wow, there are som fabby tips on here, I'm another one just starting out on old style. I'm writing down all of these tips as I go.
I am the most unorganised person in the world, but I am trying to get myself sorted.
I try and get things sorted in the evening for work the next day so that I'm not rushing around and start the day off all flustered, this helps me have a smoother slighly more relaxing day I've found.
I agree that getting enough sleep is one of best things in the world to make you feel more energised that and eating fruit and veg etc.
Time to yourself and time outdoors always helps.
oooh I like the calender idea, I'm definitely going to take that one on.
Well I made my jam yesterday but it didn't set.... can I boil it up again does anyone know???

Yes you can, but this time test it and test it again immediately and then again for setting point. I find it comes to setting point much quicker than you expect when you're reboiling it.

well ...i now have a lovely 'baking' cupboard (one black sack of 'stuff' thrown out)....BUT...this then led me to the cupboard next to the new baking cupboard..the tin cupboard...that too has been de-junked and all out of date products thrown out(trust me...not just a little bit out of date!!!) one packet of chilli con carne mix was dated Aug 95 !!!..now i know you dont like to throw things out but that one was almost a museum piece!!!..i am now moving along the kitchen..the next cupboard is the useless/unwanted/unloved/slightly broken/can no longer get the parts for junk cupboard...wish me luck.0
-
Good luck, aren't you doing well!!! I wish I had such enthusiasm to do my cupboards!!!0
-
not really enthusiasm...more like an inability to get up off the kitchen floor once i get down there...so i just keep shufling to my right and do the next one....with the odd break for emergency tea and biccies..number three done...next is the big one under the cooker...if i recall it's full of rusty oven tins, trays, big dishes and an original 1970's soda stream...what do you think bin or charity shop..0
-
Soda Stream - is it just me or were they one of the most awful things you could buy? I admit to having one thoughLoved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0
