....and all I saw was the banner. :(

Was away at the weekend and tried to access MSE on my phone (Nokia 5800 / O2 PAYG). Slow was not the word! All that loaded (slowly) was the top banner so I gave up. I checked my balance and it had cost me 8 quid.

So question is, what's the cheapest way to access the internet from your phone....or are none of the tarriffs cheap for internet access?

If you're on O2 PAYG then you can add the O2 Web Bolt-On for £7.50 per month giving you unlimited Internet subject to a 200Mb Fair Use Policy.

Also, get Opera Mini for your phone from www.operamini.com - it's a Java web browser that is incredibly fast at loading pages because of some clever compression and reduces the amount of data you use.

Other networks have different Internet policies for PAYG.

Vodafone - Maximum charge per day of use is 50p
3 - 150Mb included with every top-up, or unlimited use for £5 per month.
Orange - Maximum charge per day of use is £2
T-Mobile - Either Maximum daily charge of £1 or £2.50 for 5 days unlimited access.
Virgin - 1Gb included if you top-up £20+ per month, otherwise 30p per day.
    Asda - 20p per Mb.

O2 is not a terrible deal if you are a semi-regular user, if you are only going to use it occasionally then another network with a daily charge might be better. It's up to you and whether you want to switch networks really!

That's one misleading title, isn't it?

It was meant as a jokey attraction.

    Does it bother you?
