  • Has anyone got the Medela Hand Pump? Do you know if it uses the same valve and cup as the Medela Swing?

Was thinking of killing 2 birds with one stone...I need a new cup and valve for my medela and I was looking for a pump that I can stick in a handbag (I am supposed to be going on a beer bus for 9 hours  on Sat so will prob need to pump and dump along the way)

The TT is a bit big to be lugging around but the medela looks a bit smaller...and I have a variety of large handbags!!!

it appears to be seths turn (again!) to be a bit poorly - he hasnt kept a bottle down all day, the last one he decided to give back to me, my top, my bra, my jeans and my pants  he seems to be a tad warm and sweaty as well but is cheerful enough... for now... _pale_ i hope OH gets home soon, its surely time for someone else to be puked on lol!

Aaaah just got off the phone from Barclays fraud department as someone has used my card details to top up their phone (twice) they also registered it with Oxfam, so maybe they are thieves with a conscience!:p

Its only £30 but as money is tight at the moment its really annoying and I feel a bit sick to be honest. The funny thing is that I havent used this card for about a year and it just sits in my wallet waiting patiently! They think someone might have cloned it at a cash machine all that time ago.

(((Hugs))) to Buttons. I know what its like with the snoring. It drives me crazy but when i mention it, hubby looks all dejected. He cant help it, he even had his thyroid removed which they thought would stop it but it has made no difference.

I dont like to wake him up as I feel bad so when he's in bed I just bounce up and down gently till he wakes up and then close my eyes and pretend i'm asleep so he doesnt think I woke him on purpose!

NMS - he's a real cutey. We have that bouncer too but Leila has only just been going into it since about 5 wks old as I felt it was too upright for her before and she just flopped over to the side.

She's just started taking an interest in the teddies, personally I think they are a bit boring but she finds them amusing!!
Proud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j

I reckon the handpump will be more discrete in the toilets (OH's family already think I am a weirdo for breastfeeding LOL) - have been looking and the valve and cup I want will be about £13 delivered and I can buy the handpump from boots for £24.99...so if I can then flog it for £12 then I haven't lost anything IYSWIM!

Whilst I think about it I got 4 packs of Johnsons wipes for £2.44 in Saisburys this afternoon - they seem to have 1/2 price on some things!

Oh and Boots had real nappies and swim nappies reduced too. And the breville baby blender set thingie for £20 - which I wish I had bought because I need a new blender!

Izzy has finally gone down for a nap... at 4:45 pm. First sleep all day. We were in a nice routine with 2 45 mins (at least) naps a day, but it seems to have gone out of the window for the last week or so. I think it is maybe because she is trying to learn how to crawl, and is so determined she is fighting sleep? Anyone else have this? I know sometimes they get too excited to sleep when they have just learnt something new, but i'd not heard of it while they are trying to get there.

She will fall asleep on me while she is drinking her milk, but the second I put her down she is wide awake again and wanting to play. (I've tried just leaving her in her cot, but she plays on her own for a while, then starts crying ... I've not left her crying for long enough to see if she falls asleep eventually. Not really comfortable with doing that.)

I tried to giver her tea and she was too tired to eat, so we gave up, bit of milk and she was straight out like a light. Tried to burp her and was bouncing, patting etc with her fast asleep on my lap - she wasn't even noticing when I turned herupside down (it was a very stubborn burp!) I gave up in the end and put her down. She cried for a split second then fell asleep mid cry. I wonder how long she will sleep for!

Best get on with cleaning the bathroom anyway. Could my life get any more glamerous ;)

funny I wqas just thinking about crawling. How old is Izzy now (sorry I forget :o). MY LO is trying to get her knees up, but can't hold up her torso at the same time and when she holds her torso up, can't get her knees underneath her - but is trying VERY hard!!! We've had a couple of days where she's just decided not to have her afternoon nap (bed time has been early those nights ;)).

Will smith is Bi????? really? How do you know sami?:p:p:rotfl:

My hubby looks very like Craig Doyle:j I lilke my men to be tall, dark and handsome :D Don't tell him I said that though, his head is big enough!

glad you are feeling better MFD. Hope Benjamin is too.

bruno - I can't help re: sleep. We started off with LO doing her longest sleep of the night from 11pm to 6am, and then moved bedtime back gradually to 7pm-7.30pm I'm not sure I could give up those evenings now:o good luck and hopefully he'll start wearing himself out more very soon:rolleyes:

sami - I have to join you (not in fancying James martin - who I think is a bit of pratt actually, but a nice pratt!) but I LOVE food and love to cook and watch cookery programmes. Hubby LOVES that I like to cook, ut hates it when I present him with gourmet delights when he's in serious training :p That's what I am missing most about LO being here - I dont ahve the ability to spent all weekend in the kitchen anymore! So I'm thinking of doing a course one night a week as some me time :D

Oh no! Bargains I need to go an investigate - I can hear my bank account sighing loudly already!!!:rotfl:

I'll tell you on Sunday :rotfl:

From what I can gather it is a bus that picks you up in the afternoon and drives you around to loads of different pubs  I think there also may be drinking involved on the bus

I used to be a good drinker but these days I am crap (see MM - I said crap!!) at it!! Doing some pumping in the toilet (:rotfl:) will prevent me having to drink so much!!

    Hope Seth is better soon!
