Returning Pushchair to Mothercare

  • Thank you everyone for your great replies - they were all really helpful.

Just to answer a previous poster... I tried over the phone and they referred me to the local store - I phoned ahead and the manager said he would look at it and if it wasnt in bad condition that would be ok - so I turn up the next day and lug the thing into the shop in the box and the supervisor says that she has discussed it with the manager and they have "decided" that they wont take it back. I was polite but very annoyed that they had dragged me in only to do nothing.

So anyway I phoned up customer services again today and let rip (once again politely!) and they are sending a courier to collect it and said they will give me a full refund.

I am so relieved that I didnt have to take it further as am mentally busy with kids and business etc etc and cant afford to just put £250 down to experience!!

Will post back on here if/when the refund happens!

    Thanks again.

BTW - am going to write in and complain about the stores attitude...
  • Complain that the store was perfectly correct and that you were talking crap because you don't know what your talking about?

You had no right to return it so shut up and accept the goodwill you're getting.

It's not often I say this but I agree with you 100%.

OP you should be writing to Mothercare to thank them, not slag them off.

I can see your point but your posts seem a very rude way of putting it.I am sure that worry about wasting money was at the bottom of the origianl post.Who measures a double buggy to see if it goes through shop door ways or do you think you might think that being too wide makes it not fit for purpose. That said as you have the result you wanted, Hodgeski, I would be inclind to leave it there

My wife did. She measured the width every external door in the house and the garage. She then made sure she bought one which would fit through all of them.

    *edit*

That is harsh and rude. No need to talk that way to people. YOU have no right to tell people to shut up .OP has a valid point, was messed around, dragged in to store to be told they would not return it after all. Shame on you for YOUR vile attitude .

Just had a look for it on the Mothercare website, is it the 3 wheeler one? My god that is one ugly looking pushchair.

We had a Graco tandem and that just about fitted through small shop doorways, such as the local newsagents and greengrocers.
