Returning Pushchair to Mothercare

Just wondered what peoples opinion was of my current situation...
Many Thanks in advance for any advice!
Right we bought a Mothercare Twin Vesta pram online from Mothercare last week. We got it, put it up and went to go out - but it wont go out the door. Not just by a bit but alot! Ok so fair enough maybe we have narrow doors (though my current double buggy goes through fine). So me with baby and toddler in pushchair go downtown to do our shopping.
Except the pushchair wont go through ANY DOOR!!
I complain to Mothercare and at the moment their bottom line is that if it is used, and has no manufacturer problem they wont take it back. Now I know I could have measured my front door so I cannot compain about that but I couldnt measure every shop in my village!!
The supervisor in my local store said it was meant for rough terrain - if so then 1. why doesnt it say so on the advert and 2. why does it advertise the spacious "SHOPPING" basket on the box!
I am going to phone back on a rampage but would appreciate any feedback...
Cheers!

Wow, it must be big if it doesn't go through the doors in ASDA or Tesco, you could drive a car through them...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Thank you for your helpful comment...
We are out in the sticks so no supermarkets - just regular grocers, post office, butchers, co-op etc etc.
This pram has a wheel base that is about 10cm wider than a standard doorway...0 -
Does seem a bit silly to design a pushchair that wont fit through doors, but I have seen a comment on netmums that they were designed so there was more room in each side rather than squashing the kids in.
I think you are probably stuck with it unfortunately, may be easier to sell it on and buy another?0 -

Yes, I think the second-hand market for good quality pushchairs is quite buoyant (at least it was a few years ago when I was interested in that kind of thing.)0 -

Its something that always seems to be buoyant, my kids are old now, but I managed to sell on their prams for good prices. Good quality cared for prams are always quite easy to shift it seems.0 -
If it was bought online surely the Distance selling Regulations apply and you have every right to change your mind for any reason & return the item for a full refund? what does it say about returns on the website?0

personally when ive purchased things that have turned out to be unsuitable for me i return under the manufacture warranty0

This is not good. Have you tried taking it back to the shop?
Is it on their website? A link may be handy as they'll give dimensions."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

Yes except who is going to want to buy a useless pram that won't even fit through the front door?
If it won't fit thorugh a regular door, then it won't go round normal shop aisles or lots of other places you'll need to go (experienced double buggy user talking here!)"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
