I've always used my Southampton Uni Student card for discounts and it works everywhere so far! That said, southampton uni are not part of the NUS scheme as the uni see's it as a waste of money (uni has to pay over £100k to join per year alone) when we already have a student card...
That said when it says "student" discount they should really do it for student card (college or uni), but I've used my student card for "NUS" discounts many times!0
