hi,
Dear OH bought Humax foxsat-hdr freesat early this year from JL.
it was working perfectly. but since yesterday when we browse channels (through Guide button), the screen just freeze up. thinking problem could be with remote batteries, i replaced them with new ones. but still the screen freezes. strangely this happens only when we browse channels through guide button
anyone else had this issue? any pointers to resolve this rather frustrating issue please?

It's possible that you've hit a software/firmware bug.
Have you checked on the support website to see if you have the latest firmware?
I think this is the latest for your model, but I may have missed something more recent:

There is no new firmware as yet not since the HDR came out in Nov 08
You could try asking in digispy forum
I found found sometimes with pvrs and I have several Himax ones that a factory reset sometimes cures odd problem
Only issue I have with HDR is occasionally graphical glitch on BBC HD and it has locked up once or twice but I have had mine since they came out0 -
I sell Humax boxes, and this is a fairly common issue with both the Freeview and Freesat boxes. Humax have informed us that occasionally the boxes get 'confused' by errant transmitter signals and freeze up. I recommend turning the box off at the wall socket for a couple of minutes and then turning it back on. This re-sets the box and should solve the problem for you.0

I got a Humax box a few weeks ago, and was horrified when it froze on the 2nd day. The solution was to switch it off, then on again.
The way to permanently work around the problem, is to set the box to automatically switch itself off (i.e on standby) and on again once a day, which you can do through the options menu. I set mine to go on standby every night, and come on on again in the morning. It's worked perfectly for weeks now, and I've had no further problems whatsoever.
The simplest methods are always the best.0 -
There is also a reset to original in the menu system which is sometimes necessary if mains disconnection doesn't work. Menu - set up- factory reset.0

As above, and general advice for any set top boxes, Sky, Freesat or Freeview - 'Have you tried turning it off and on again?!' Leave it for 5 mins in between.
Did this glitch perhaps start during heavy rain? This would backup the signal theory. I had this with Freeview boxes but my HDR had been rock solid so far. Only a few mis-timed or missed recordings due to the scheduling data, which is the broadcasters' responsibility. Let us know if it works...0 -
I have a Humax 9200 and get this and all manner of other issues on a very regular basis ... fed up and gonna look for a new box and I won't be looking at Humax again :mad::mad:
