Where are all the cheap late deals???

With the recession and people not going abroad I thought I might get late deal but none seem really cheap, where are they all?!

Looking for 10 day hol 2 adults 2 children AI flying 1st Aug, not sure where to go but have been looking at Majorca/Ibiza.

Most prices 2k+, is that quite reasonable or do you think I can do better?

Thanks

Agee! There are so few that the prices are very steep. I have been unable to find any holidays for 1 adult and 1 child to anywhere how for 1 week, for under £1000!!

You might find a 14 night possibility and then just get a one way flight home on the 10/11th day.

Can't risk not being back as I'm in trouble if not in work on the 12th! I've tried on the beach but flights are almost 300 each before you even look at hotel!

I thought holiday companies bought the rooms ages ago and then would drop price to sell off if they haven't gone. Do you mean the holiday companies haven't bought as much so less holidays available?

Maybe the recession isn't as bad as the press make out and plenty are going away, although people who have been on hol all say resorts are quiet.

otbeach have a terrible rep, a forum search here will tell you all you need to know. Hidden charges and bad customer service. Trading standards are very familiar with this company.

the cheapest way to do it, is the book flights, transfers, hotel yourself.

just been pricing costa brava half board for 3 of us for 5 days in august, its comes to £550 all in!:D

Have you tried searchonlinetravel.com , think there part of the coop group, you can also speak to travel agent online on the site. Don't think transfer are included but i think you can book them on the site.
  • I am a travel agent , and their are no late bargains to be had at the minute. Flights are so expensive, thats what makes the holiday lots of money.

Our family holiday this year i have done myself Flights with ryanair, and accomodation with thomsons.
Thomsons have some very good cheap accomodation online.
    My holiday cost me £550:j 2ad 1 child(5) 4 Nights 4* HB in salou.
Even got some money back through quidco for thomson accomodation.:T
