Just ordered the readydry, any advice on which solution to use - is it best to stay brand specific or are other brands OK?

    Any recommendations?

I get my Bissell shampoo from Ideal World. They used to be £19.99 for 3 bottles, which usually cost about £17 each in Argos. I used to buy them when the p&p was free too. Last time I saw them on TV though, it was £29.99 for 3 bottles. I've tried both the lavender and the orange - both are very nice. You also get a shampoo that can be used if you have pets.

The original is still £19.99 for 3 bottles though (and £4.95 postage). http://www.idealworld.tv/3_Original_Wash_and_Protect_Formula_141102.aspx?fh_location=//idealworld/en_GB/$s=bissell

The orange stuff is now £7.99 for 1 bottle (plus £4.95 p&p) but if you buy more than one bottle you only pay one lot of p&p.

Argos are selling the original for £14.79 for 1 bottle. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4080576/Trail/searchtext%3EBISSELL.htm

I've just ordered this one from Comet:
    http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/523380/BISSELL-79T3E-READYDRY

I've no idea how good it is as it hasn't been delivered yet, but I thought it was a fantastic price. Don't forget to enter the code on the page to get an additional 10% off.

I did the Click part of Click and Collect but when I got there I was told that the only one in stock was a display model with no instructions. Since the only shop was on the other side of town I wasn't best pleased. They did offer me "a little" off of the display model if I wanted it but since I didn't know exactly what should come with it I didn't want to risk missing out on. They were good enough to allow me to purchase one from another store which did appear to have them in stock and gave me "a little" off for me having to trek all over the place.

Thanks, ended up at Bizzell Direct and got 3rd bottle free so it was £33.90 for 3 bottles (as opposed to £16.95 each) including P&P
  • Hi,

I recently got a Bissell 1698k which works really well. I got mine from a price comparison site for £195 which isnt a bad price.

After reading this thread I got the ReadyDry from Comet on Sunday. I've cleaned my stairs and landing and my daughter's bedroom carpet. The stairs and landing carpet is 2 years old and oatmeal coloured and I didn't realise just how dirty it was!! There were a few black stains that I'd failed to get out with 1001 or whatever it's called, the canister with the scrubber on the end, and they came out easily although I pretreated them with the Oxy stuff it came with. The carpet was dry in probably an hour not 30 mins but I really went to town on it and I scrubbed it with the tools rather than the main roller thing because it's stairs so obviously couldn't use it. I used it normally in my daughter's bedroom. Her carpet is 14 months old and was filthy, she had spilt things on it and done a wee on it I think when the bathroom was engaged last week. It came up clean but the pile didn't come up nice and it looks very worn. I'm not sure if that is because it is a synthetic carpet though and the underlay in there was a lesser quality than I have on the stairs (Cloud 9). The stairs carpet also has a high wool content.

I cleaned my sofas with it and it left sort of water marks in some places that I had to go over where I had missed sucking up all of the liquid. They are an oatmeal weave fabric so they discoloured when they were wet and I couldn't see properly where I'd missed it until the rest was dry.

Overall I am very pleased with it and for the stairs alone it was worth the £121 I paid.
